I love seeing the favourite products of beauty bloggers or youtubers, and that tag has been going around for so long now. It’s so lovely to have little tips of people that you trust, make up wise! But recently i turned to other videos that really grab my attention. The ‘don’t believe the hype‘ and ‘disappointing products‘ blogposts or/and videos!
I’ve seen Essiebutton, VivianneDoesMakeup and so many other gurus do it, so i thought it was about time i tried out this new little tag.
This post definitely is more on the negative side and i’m not trying to be Debby Downer here but if this can help you save some pennies, that’s nice, right?

As a little disclaimer…

I have a lot of make up and beauty products, both budget products and high end ones. I don’t always know much about the product when I buy it, so once every so ofter, i’ll use something in the hope of seeing result at a certain point, but that point never comes…
The products i’m showing you guys today may work like a charm on your skin, they just didn’t float my boat, and i’ll tell you why!
I’ve been ‘collecting’ them for about a year and a half now. Some products i didn’t like, I actually  gave away to my friends or my mum, as i feel like just because i don’t like a product, doesn’t mean someone else won’t like it!  Of all the products in my make up collection, there aren’t many left I never use, except for these ones…

First up is the Mac Mineralize Charged Water Skin Hydrating Mist. You’re supposed to spray this on your face at least 6 inches away before or after you apply your make up. It’s really how you prefer it. I tried it so often, before, after, during,.. When I apply it before, I have to massage it in my skin for ages before it smooths away, and if I apply it afterwards, my skin is just left wet.
So if any one knows how to properly use it and it works, do let me know please!

Next up, are 2 Benefit products. The “Fine-one-one” a 3 in 1 cheek stick (bronzer-blusher-highlighter) that just leaves orange-y streaks on my cheeks.. it doesn’t look good at all… And with my round face, I like to contour my cheeks quite a lot, this does not, in any way, do that… Nope for me! The second product by Benefit it the “Dr.Feelgood“, it’s supposed to be a silky blend you can apply to eliminate the oiliness of your skin. It’s colourless and weightless, and I agree, but they claim to also be ‘miracle worker’. Yep that’s not true!

I saw this one in every single beauty guru’s hands, so I got mine. It’s the Maybelline Fit Me Anti Shine Stick. I got it in Ivory Vanilla, and the colour matches my skin, which is good because it’s difficult to find your colour in this range. The thing I don’t like with this one.. It’s not very buildable and doesn’t blend out easily. It accentuates my pores which is not great. i’ve had some use out of it, just because I didn’t want to waste the money i spend..

Not very known in the blogging world, is this L’Oréal Paris Studio Secrets smoothing Primer. The first thing I noticed was the smell, it has a glue-y smell to it, and when I apply it to my skin, my hands always end up covered in little scrubs of primer. it just doesn’t feel nice.

And finally, this Mac Splashproof Lash waterproof mascara. It’s very pricy and my lashes don’t curl at all. They are waterproof yes, but they are straight, and every one of my lashes just stick together. Instead of wearing this to the beach, I just went without make up, much better!

That was it for all of the fails in my collection!

Here is my face to truly show you i didn’t like them.disappointing

Hope you enjoyed what I didn’t! – ha see what i did there?
