I have tried the Kylie Jenner Lip Challenge, and ladies, take notes.
Here are a couple of reasons why you shouldn’t try it out.
When I first saw the pictures of the challenge on Twitter and Instagram I face palmed hard. What are these kids thinking? I even saw a girl who slit her top lip with this bullcrap! Excuse my language there…
I started inspecting my lips in a mirror and soon started pouting and duck facing to see how my lips would look like, and as Kayla Itsines said it best ‘When you say a word over and over again, it doesn’t make anymore sense, that’s what happens to girls when they look at their body‘, so I said to myself, what the heck, again-pardon my language, I can try that. So I did, in the name of journalism, and for you guys of course!
So to get Kylie Jenner lips, you need to stick your lips in a shot glass and suck all the air out of it, leaving the shot glass to stick to your face, basically.
I’m not going to include any images to this post, as I find them disturbing and you can all just google them and be horrified somewhere else.
Let’s get to the jist of why you shouldn’t try this new trend out…
First of all, it leaves painful bruises on your lips and all around them. Oh and, they don’t go away for at least a couple of days.
Remember that hickey you got at 15 years old you were hiding under tons of make up and a big scarf? Yeah well imagine that around your lips! Not to mention, it kind of looks like a moustache from far away.
Second of all, the girls that are trying to get these big plump lips are practically all teens and tweens who’s bodies and minds are still developing. They are encouraged to alter their appearances to look better. Seriously, this does not make anyone look better… Quite the contrary actually.
I believe Kylie Jenner had lip injections and uses lipliner to make them look even bigger. She didn’t use a plastic cup or a shot glass as a vacuum to plump those babies up.
Anyway, as a normal girl, I guess I have to accept the fact I can’t keep up with the Kardashians every step of the way, even if I wanted to! So I’m sticking to occasionally overdrawing my lips and loving myself as I am.
If you haven’t tried out this so called “Challenge” then don’t, and if you have, please share your horrid stories with the rest of us in the comments below!
